Rosaline would annoy me a bit throughout the reading with her whining and woe-is-me behavior; but then I would just remind myself that was was young and we all go through that phase.

Overall, I loved this retelling, or rather un-telling, of the classic Romeo and Juliet story.

I'm a big Shakespeares fan and once I read the synopsis of this retelling I had to grab it. I was so excited to read this book and I enjoyed it a lot. it was a great retelling and how you see different point of views of characters you thought you knew. It was fantastic seeing a strong minded and determined woman as the main character in the setting the book takes place in. The wording was fantastic. It did lag to me in the middle but even with that I enjoyed the book tremendously.

I read this in chunks, which isn’t my preferred vehicle to read, but it really worked for this one.

I did have high hope for this book bc I love a Shakespeare-inspired & rewritten story. It didn’t *not* reach those hopes, but it’s just barely grazed the line
