This fantasy romance is light and easy to read. The story is told in broad brush strokes which makes it a good palate cleanser or beach read.

The book was just what I needed, I think.
First of all, gotta say, some people claim there was little action and a lot more drama brewing. But for me the pace seemed just right, and not in any way tedious.
Yes, the FL and ML had some issues to resolve, yet that, too, came as natural for the story. One tiny thing, though, by the third part of the book, I think, I did start feeling a little bit fed up with the way Luella made her decisions. Although, at the same time, her reasons were indeed well explained, so I didn't have big issues with that.
Elise Kova's language is indeed easy to keep following and the story was simply flowing onto the pages!
Not the steamiest romance, as well, but here and there it was enough to get that feeling, you know😏. And besides, Eldas is super sweet, easily wins you over.

I want to get back to this, but I have to focus on another book series so I will pause on reading this. I hope to come back to it once I finish the other book series

I had high hopes for this book - because you know, elf king. I like the idea and I like most of the characters but everything just happened too fast. On Luella’s second (maybe third) encounter with Willow, she calls him her closest friend? What? And the elf king is cold to her maybe once or twice before immediately becoming kind. It just left a lot to be desired.
