‘The Lizard Prince and Other South American Stories’ edited by Kate Ashwin, Kel McDonald and Alberto is the sixth volume in the Cautionary Fables and Folktales series of graphic novels.
The fun part of this series is seeing stories from around the world and how the stories can be familiar. We meet a man who makes a deal with the devil and finds a loophole. It also pays to be grateful to magical creatures. Among the ordinary, there are a few that shine.
As in all of these collections, the story quality and art can vary quite a bit. The art is black and white and this collection felt a little better than others in the series.
