Hard to get super excited as this was more of a prologue to the story to come, but it seems promising.

This book has a lot of rough edges in the art and the story, but it has great tension and makes you want to keep reading! If it follows the patterns of other webcomics I've read, the art will improve drastically soon.

Well drawn and some panels were actually quite beautiful, but I just couldn't get into it. The main character was annoying...I tire of constantly coming across heroines who are clumsy and stupid, even though she's supposed to be a student in this series. Its not adorable, its patronizing.

I did however enjoy how they drew her as she wasn't super thin and busty, so that was nice.

The story was also a little choppy as if there was a panel or four missing between pages.

The steampunk visuals were really nice so if you were just reading it to look at steampunk its not bad.

I am sure I have passed this author's booth at many a local convention and have always meant to read one of these comics. Again I ran across this comic while browsing the local library. I highly recommend giving it a go, if you like the steampunk genre and/or reading female leads.

I just bought this colour version, and while it's certainly an improvement on the first black-and-white edition (which I've had for years), you can tell by the artwork that this is early days for Girl Genius -- the style and quality improves much in later books, especially after Cheyenne Wright joins the team in book 4.

This story was cute, but it was kind of ruined by the boobs. Was it really necessary to have her wake up places naked and have her be objectified all the time? It wasn't funny, and it wasn't relevant.

My very first graphic novel. Just wanted to try something new with an interesting premise, and of course, a girl in the leading role. I enjoyed this book and the artwork, plus the steampunk references. Graphic novels are too short though!

This review covers books 1-5 in the series.

This comic is actually available online, but has been published in book format. It's definitely a webcomic that deserves the treatment. Great art, an immersive world with deep characters and non stop action and fun all around! A kind of gas light sci fi adventure featuring a gifted young woman who suddenly finds herself being pursued at every turn. One of the interesting aspects is that as a reader, I really wasn't sure who to trust as Agatha suddenly finds her life turned upside down. Any number of sides might be good or evil in their own way, it actually puts the reader in much the same place the protagonist is, torn and unsure where to go, merely along for the ride of non stop action.

Probably best for older teens I'd say, some violent, although usually cartoonish content.

I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING, OH MY GOD

*since it's a huge series, I will probably follow what I do in manga too and review in the last volume*
