The artwork was amazing but I didn’t realize it was nonfiction about survival and wolves and the circle of life and all. Still good but maybe for older elementary readers ready to learn more about that

As an adult, I liked it, especially because it illustrates a really neat fact I learned from Barry Lopez's "Of Wolves and Men." However, I'd hesitate to read this to young children, because the pictures illustrate rather frankly how wolves bite and kill their prey, and the how their eating involves them ripping the other animal's body apart. The art is lovely and stylized, and not bloody, but small or sensitive children might be very disturbed to see the wolves biting and ripping into the nice deer. So use proper discretion, knowing your audience. For the right kid, though, this will be a neat, honest look at the lives of wolves and ravens.

I like the illustrations and the honest depiction of natural survival where two unlikely species come together to eat. It does portray wildlife survival though, so if one is unable/unwilling to explain why animals must kill other animals to survive to the audience it is written for, this book may be a hard read.

Brings a bit of the natural world, animal symbiosis, into focus in an engaging way with nice illustrations.

I am old enough to be a grown-up and while I understand the life-cycle and relationships depicted I found this one a little scary.

Really beautiful illustrations and a story that doesn't shy away from life and death.
