Very allegorical. VERY. I appreciated the message, but I wouldn't say it made for a great read.

5 stars for the Christian, totally Biblical message, 2 stars for the realism of the story...Really? The girls are given that money with no strings? Amanda couldn't at least have had the court appoint a trustee when she saw how they were living? I know from the experience of a friend that blood relations have priority over people a child has known as mom and dad since birth, but I also know that the court keeps an eye on what,s going on...

This book is an easy, quick read. The emotional intensity of two 3-year-old twin girls being snatched from their loving step mother and thrust into the hands of their greedy, irresponsible grandparents kept me turning the pages. It is not the most masterful work as far as literary themes are concerned - there are clearly biblical analogies to the prodigal son and explicit references to believing faith, rather than letting the reader draw her own conclusions and connections. But the redemptive end and the tones of unfailing love make it an uplifting story.
