Nico meets Harper in a night club, they then find out that she is the new photographer for his NHL team and they are not allowed to date - but the do ;)
I struggled through this book. The characters are a bit one dimensional and they are basically in love from the get go. Why? Nobody knows. They barely knew each other.
They were cute with each other, I give them that. But it was all happening too fast.

“I couldn’t let myself get involved with him on a personal level and I felt like we were already toeing that line.”
Honey, you just hooked up, you jumped over that line already.

Her whole “we can’t put a label because I will lose my job” was getting on my nerves rather quickly. In the end, she does get fired but is actually happy about it because now she can follow her real passion - okay, good for you girl, but then you were just being difficult all along for no reason.

General question, is it an American thing that dating at work is so strictly forbidden?

In the end Nico has to meet with an old friend of his and it is really, really urgent. However, this does absolutely nothing to the story and it just seems that the author wanted to introduce this character, Malakai, who also happens to have his own book.

Meet Me in the Penalty Box was such a fun and engaging read! The chemistry between the characters was electric, and I loved how the sports backdrop added an extra layer of excitement to their romance. The banter was witty, making me smile and laugh throughout.

While the storyline followed some familiar tropes, the characters were well-developed and relatable, which kept me invested in their journey. I appreciated the mix of lighthearted moments with more emotional depth, creating a nice balance.

This book is perfect for anyone looking for a charming romance with a sporty twist. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it for a cozy reading session!

This was a cute story for Nico & Harper!  After a steamy first encounter, both of them are shocked when their paths meet again.  And while they can't openly be together, seeing them grow and acknowledge their feelings was heartwarming.  The audio was also enjoyable to listen to! Narrated in dual by Macie Miller & Tim Paige and it was so easy to follow along!

Moved quickly but didn’t really build much interest in the main characters. Was really just pushing to finish it
