I wanted to like it.. but ugh. Uptight bitches annoy me.

Searching for Mine definitely had an uptight character. It doesn't help that she was the MC either. In it, you will meet Ella and Connor. She is a single mom and a college professor. He is one of lucky students that annoys the shit out of her constantly.

Now I've said this before, I have no problem with college relationship. Student - Teacher means nothing to me because everyone is an adult by then. Yet, that doesn't really work this time around for me. I mean, it would if I ended up liking both characters and since I hated Ella and Connor with so much passion - I didn't care for them.

Heck, I wanted things to go horribly wrong right from the start. Unfortunately, they find love and happiness. Ugh, so mad.

This was a perfect addition to the Searching For series and I really enjoyed reading it.

Sometimes the makeover portion of the Kinnections experience can annoy me because I feel a lot like Nate, that it's not always necessary and can make the matches feel less authentic. However, this time around the effect of the makeover was addressed perfectly.

Connor was pretty good at playing the asshole and I worried for a minute that he wouldn't redeem himself. On the other hand, Ella was a bit uptight and I was kind of put off by her in the beginning. Really it was her son, Luke that helped bring out the softer side of both of them.

I think that my biggest problem with this book is that it was too short and I wanted more of Ella and Connor.

Sigh..I don't know what to say about this one. I really didn't like anything about it at all.

The author made the heroine so bitchy, and uptight. She had thick black rimmed glasses, wore horrible to big for her clothes that didn't show an ounce of skin. Flat boots, wore her hair in a "severe" bun, and wore a garish orange shade of lipstick. This is how the hero describes her through practically the whole frigging book! In fact he only really makes a move on her after she gets a make over.

Check out this following quote..

"He stared. Speechless, his voice died in his throat and he could only look at the woman before him that was no longer Ella. She was stunning."

SOOOO..ya. Add in the fact that Connor is kind of a douche noodle through 98% of the book AND they both go on dates with other people (though nothing sexual happens) pretty much right to the end, this just didn't work for me on pretty much any level.

I loved this!
Romance is not dead.
Doesn't matter what age you are, sometimes waiting is the best thing to do to find the one you truly are meant to be with.

Luke stole my heart with his actions and words.

Ella stole my heart with her strong will to stand to her beliefs and not giving up.

Their story in the Searching Series is another one you will fall in love with!
I enjoyed seeing some of my other favorite characters in this series make an appearance. Was a nice surprise!

This is a quick loving read that will make your heart swoon and want to fall in love all over again.

Jennifer Probst is my #1 for reading extraordinary love stories that always capture my heart and make me believe that I one day I will find the ONE!

Must 1 click!

4.5. Feeling quite generous in rounding this up mostly because this was one of the best novellas I've ever read in that in felt as close to a full romance as you can get in a shorter amount of pages. I enjoyed their relationship and it was nice to be back in a Jennifer Probst book. I haven't read one in ages and I love the series so much!

Searching for Mine is Conner, Nate's brothers, story. This is a short, sweet and sexy read. Conner is finally getting his college degree and he hits a snag in his perfect GPA when his teacher keeps giving him F's on his papers. Ella knows that Conner is smarter than he lets on and she's determined not to fall for his charm and make him work for his grades. When a few unfortunate events lead them to actually becoming friends, they build a great relationship. Just friends. He loves her son. They have a lot in common. He sees her beyond her ugly glasses and big, beige clothes. But, when she signs up for Kennections and gets her make over, Conner can't help but want her. He knows it's a very bad idea, but he can't help himself. Will Conner lose the only woman he's ever had feelings for? Can Ella forgive him for being an ass?
I love this story! I love the Searching For series and if Jennifer writes 50 books in the series, I'll read them all!

His stride owned pure grace and swaggar. His tight, perfect ass made women want to weep. Or cop a feel.

Women are exhausting. One man would punch the other one, they'd fight it out, and then go get a beer."

He was a walking, talking specimen of everything a woman dreams of in a man. Both Hemsworth brothers mixed with Daniel Craig and a sprinkle of old-fashioned Redford.

A novella in the "Searching for" series, written for the 1001 Dark Nights collection, "Searching for Mine" is an excellent example of how this collaboration works! This is a series I have had on my TBR for a while. I have the paperback! As the saying goes "Too many books, not enough time". Atlas, as more time passed and more books get added to the series, a get gets a bit scared and overwhelmed. "Will I like it?" "Can I commit to that many?" One of the things I'm really enjoying about the 110 Dark Nights collection is it allows readers to sample the author and series. So glad I grabbed "Searching for Mine".

I truly love Jennifer's writing style and how she develops her characters. The stories flow and the reader is entertained and gets lost in the world she created.

The 'student/teacher' taboo was BRILLIANTLY done here that no eye was batted. PERFECT! Loved that she was not only 'immune" to his "charmed" but that she called him out on his "old fashion" (lets call it that to be nice, shall we) thinking was fantastic. Ella, the heroine is funny, witty sarcastic and calls it like she sees it. LOVE her!

Conner is pleasant on the eye, a charmer and apparently "thinks" he knows how to get what he wants. I loved his nurturing and caring side. He is the brother of Nate who was the hero in a previous book. Those that read "Searching for Perfect" will know Conner a tad, but more as a "playboy" apparently. We "hear" more about this here.

Really enjoyed seeing Ella's and Conner's relationship develop from teacher/student to friends to lovers. The chemistry is there but it adds to that under lying layer that relations need that is ore than just physical.

I tend to be a bit hesitant about reading novellas as I feel they are either rushed or you don't get a complete story. This isn't the case with "Searching for Mine". You get a complete story that makes you want to read the rest of the series. A talent that Jennifer has. :)
