This has been my least favourite Wayfarer book thus far. And yet, it made me laugh out loud and cry just as much as the others have. Although it was a bit slow to get going, Becky Chambers has yet to truly disappoint.

This quickly became my favorite book of all times!
The universe Becky creates feel very real, from the sci-fi and technology aspect, to the societal one. I was so immersed in the story that I forgot it was a story. Becky has many different voices so all her characters feel real, with their distinct personalities, problems, mentalities..
The book also raises some interesting philosophical questions (that the reader can engage in or not). Just a well rounded amazing book :)

I read this series out of order, so this is the last installment I read, and it's definitely different. With the other three Wayfarer books, I always felt that there was a specific plot or theme that the book was exploring. This one didn't feel as cohesive. We're following multiple characters, but while some of them connect within the scope of the story, others don't. There is some overlap there, and I'm not saying the perspectives weren't interesting or that I didn't get invested (it's Becky Chambers, of course I got invested), but this almost felt like reading several novellas about the lives of different characters. There's barely any plot, but if you're in the mood for something slice of life but in space, then I definitely recommend this book.

My favorite of the Wayfarers series so far. I wasn't expecting to love the Exodans and their way of life, but the ensemble cast & POV of this novel really charmed me. You don't need to read books 1 and 2 of Wayfarers to enjoy this- it's more of a shared world series than a continous story- but the other novels provide context for the larger Galactic Commons and other species and planets mentioned.
