Aside from literature, I have another love: science, but especially human anatomy. It is no wonder I scooped up this graphic novel the second I saw it. While I knew that the premise of this book, to introduce the reader to the human anatomy, what I did not expect was to laugh, actually laugh out loud, throughout reading it. It is educational. It is adorably funny (each system is presented to the reader by a “BONE-afied” skeleton). Just read this...and then give it to anyone who loves science, to anyone who thinks science can’t be fun, to anyone who likes a good pun.

Very informative, funny, and understandable! Wicks uses charming illustrations throughout to give clear information, with just enough goofiness to be enjoyable. Wish I had a comic like this when I was younger, it explained so many subjects (like puberty and poop) with enough maturity and clarity to be fun, but still educational. I especially loved the inclusion of the ASL and braille alphabet in the glossary.

This book was a great read. It had plenty of pictures and diagrams to illustrate the human body and everything was very clear and easy to understand. I also learnt a lot on the way. The vocabulary was very well explained and it was an interesting read. It was not boring at all and it is the best biology/human body book that I’ve ever had the opportunity to read!

This was delightful! Well presented information, I think a good read for teens and up who want to learn about biology.

The absolute best way to refresh your anatomy knowledge or learn it for the first time! Fun, humorous and clever.

5/2018 - Skimmed this. Really surprised at the level of accurate detail! Could definitely be used as a supplement to an upper elementary/middle school science class, or for any kids who are super into biology.
