I thought this story was a wonderful mix of realistic characters and the time travel motif throughout the book. It really reminded me of “About Time”- with the father and child and Shari  lessons learned about their time traveling experiences and also with grief and death.

THIS. BOOK. I haven't cried during a book since I read Marley & Me in the 4th grade. The novel follows Alice, (who funnily enough, lives in the same neighborhood as I do in Brooklyn), and how on the eve of her 40th birthday, time travels to her 16th birthday. There, she realizes that she wants to spend more time with her father, as in her 40-year-old life, he is ill. This book has so many great quotes about realizing that you are exactly where you need to be in life, and no matter how hard you want to try and change the past, the ending is still going to be the same.

I enjoyed this book because it was funny, heartfelt and sentimental, and made me miss my parents even more.
