This book was another book apart of the Creature Feature. I had heard of the author but never read any of his work so l was very excited. This book was not it. I maybe should have read his other works. This quick read/listen made me feel miserable. I felt really bad for a main character and the other main characters attitude about the whole situation and making sure everything was cared for really made me mad.

All of the other creature feature stories were pretty unremarkable for me, but I loved this one! It’s one of the shortest in the collection, but manages to create a great horror story quickly and easily. Definitely makes me interested in reading more from this author.

I liked that the twist happened right as I was about to quit. I wanted to see the end expanded a bit more and less of the build up.

A wild and a bit gory ride. The book opens right in the thick of it. This is one of the books where the plot twist feels a bit like betrayal. It’s interesting to see how normalized this “luck” is among the family and to find that it spans generations makes me genuinely wonder about the origin. This quick read was fun, interesting, and a little gross.

Ick 😅 Body horror in any fashion always makes me question myself when I am reading it... it's gross.
