As someone who went through a similar thing as the main character, i feel like this portrayal of having an older sibling with a narcotic addiction is really really good. I feel like most other books make addiction seem like something only a low-life does. They make you envision addicts as a homeless man living under a bridge with no family or friends. A man that hurts people. A horrible person. You dont think that person could be your big sister. You dont think that person could be the child of a well known, well loved family. This completely ignores that silly narrative. I love it.
