I am finding it so hard to get all of my thoughts in order, but wow was this book amazing. The space exploration is treated so anti-climatically but for some reason that makes it all the more interesting, it is almost as though everything that happened was no big deal to a society that had progressed so far. It is interesting to think about, where is the point in which we no longer care about interaction with alien life forms because we are too busy in our own worlds? With the news of the development of a movie directed by Denis Villeneuve, it also makes me wonder how he will treat this sci-fi novel as opposed to Dune and Blade Runner, movies that are much more action-packed. Anyway hope Deak gets on the design for Rama because damn I am so excited to see what it looks like.

A fun, quick read, with interesting ideas, and a constant reminder that despite our past history and all we’ve learned, humans will likely always believe they are the center of the universe. Because insignificance is harder to accept than death!

Very science-y book. I liked the first part... But the second part was just so dull.. Maybe because there was very little to like about the characters. Anyway, it would be ok if you are familiar with this type of hard scifi. It just wasn't for me.
