I very much liked this take of the women involved in and affected by the trojan war, and especially the female rage. unfortunately it was (just) a retelling of their stories with nothing new or different. (maybe that's because I've read all these myths multiple times before...)

A book about the real heroes, the real warriors, the women. The women of the war who hid in plain sight but suffered dare I say more than the ones that died in the battle.

For a retelling "focused" on the women, I'm not sure this actually passes the Bechdel test. The narrator did a wonderful job.

I love this Greek Mythology retelling. It has a good writing style. Haynes had made sure she gave justice to every women who were part of the Trojan War, not just the women of Troy but also the Greek women who were left behind during the war. The unspoken women were given life and humanized in this book. I could feel their suffering, their anger, and their sadness. This book is worth reading.
