I've been looking forward to reading this manga for ages ever since seeing that clip from the anime of Jesus in the sauna with the yakuza member (which is also wonderfully depicted in this volume.) The religious references and in jokes have real deep cuts, both Christianity and Buddhism, so I was glad for the explanations that followed each chapter so I could get the context.

I love the domestic humor and the buddy relationship between Jesus and Buddha. Always a fan of down to earth stories about otherworldly/monumental figures. It gives them an aspect of levity and it shows a true comfort when we can laugh about what is usually taken so seriously.

Oh my gosh. I knew I'd like this manga... but I didn't realize how much I would like it! This was so funny and cute, it was hard to put down at times.

I love seeing Buddha and Jesus living in an apartment in Japan with their quirks. It's hilarious and can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Took me 3 weeks to get through this- partly because I was busy, but also because this was a fun and easy book to pick-up and put down whenever the mood fits. Love how smart yet slapstick humour this author artistically weaves into the references sprinkled throughout. Definitely recommend to those who’d like a casual read. This manga is episodic, so don’t be in a rush to get through it.
