Another solid murder mystery from Louise Penny. This one turns its inte rogating gaze on to the quirky inhabitants of Three Pines following the death of 10 year old Laurent. Who could kill a young boy, yes, it must be said, an annoying little boy, but still. Who would do such a thing - and why?

The John Fleming parts were freaky, and when they were going to release him to find the plans, I was really not following the logic at all. However, it seems like there’s more to come there, so that could explain it better.
Also, finally Ruth. And Clara. And Louise Penny. Answering the question repeated in these books for a decade. “Who hurt you once, so far beyond repair?”
