This was so much fun!!! I feel like there was some prequel or previous series that I definitely missed out reading, and that led to a little confusion with the worldbuilding and characters, but I worked it out after a while and truly enjoyed myself. It was the perfect guilty pleasure read - addictive, dual pov with loveable characters, and romance-heavy with some steam. However there was also a fair bit of plotline and fantasy, which I appreciated! All in all, a very enjoyable romantasy read.

I don't often give reviews but lately I've been reading a lot of fantasy that I love but has quite a bit of "mature content" in it. I'm not sure why those two have to go hand in hand, but whatever.

This book is a really interesting read if you can put aside all the sex. I love the history behind the witches, the hell hounds, all that. It's just a fun read, just be ready for some literotica. I was not ready for it but it definitely made it more interesting.

I finally gave it up @ DNF at 78%. Why I tortured myself with it as long as I did, I'm not quite sure. Probably because I love a good fated-mates story, and I kept hoping it would get better. But the writing is pretty basic and cliche, and I just couldn't do it anymore.

What a wild ride. I felt all the emotions. Great banter. Great tropes. He falls first. Touch her and parish

I really loved the hero Warrick. He was a magnificent alpha hero and I'm sad we didn't get to dig deeper into his history and head. He's the type of character that has so many layers you could probably fill three books with all the goods.

His need for Willow and how he protected her was so sexy. Despite his instincts telling him otherwise he allowed her to run from him time and time again but he was also extremely patient with her. He was always watching and waiting for her to realize he was never leaving her.

He was my absolute favorite part of this book.

The heroine Willow was very strong willed and stubborn. She took being the keeper of her families coven and protecting that family very very seriously. To the point that she carried more responsibility on her shoulders than her family realized or ever asked her to. She liked to throw herself into danger to protect sisters and essentially was a martyr for them the entire book.

That was my least favorite part tbh. The woe is me martyrdom plot was very tiring as the book went on. Not that I didn't understand it but a change of pace or choice would have been nice.

Especially regarding Willow and her commitment issues. She was quite literally afraid of love and being in love. Lots of reasons fed this fear of hers but particularly her mother's terrible judgment of the men she brought around her girls growing up.

I felt that it was very predictable and obvious in those parts where Willow was constantly reasoning out her turning Warrick down or running from him as whatever was between them was shallow and lust driven. All because Warrick explained how hellhounds didn't have souls and therefore didn't feel much. Lust and anger, sure, but nothing deeper BUT they had the ability to read these emotions in others and understand them. Because of this Willow used this as a crutch to hold up her poor excuses the entire book. Which I gotta say was frustrating as it was boring.

Otherwise I enjoyed this one and I'm interested in the other sisters, especially Rose. I'm gonna keep reading and see what happens.
