This story was just not for me. It has nothing to do with the triggers or the BDSM part in the book, but I felt something was missing.
It was a bit flat for, especially Sloan. Her emotions were just not enough for me. Lilian was better with her emotions, but also not enough for me.
There was a storyline that was not really special.
If you like BDSM and are into the trigger warnings, read this book.

Don't Leave Me is one of my favorite taboo relationships - STEP SIBLINGS! Sloane and Lillian enter each other's lives at around pre-teen age if I read it correctly. So it's a little more taboo in that they "grew up together" but also they are growing up together during angst years and hormones. Which I was very here for.

Sloane. Ugh. I had a massive crush on her from the first book and my crush just amplified. I sometimes wish she had a little more development versus being only in love with Lillian and being smart. Likewise with Lillian that she very clearly has abandonment issues and loves Sloane. I still enjoyed them though and their sex scenes together were so good.

The non-linear timeline is I think where I got a bit frustrated. Even though it was expected as we had to see how their relationship evolved, but it did feel like too much at times because I felt like if we had more time in the present, we could have gotten a bit more emotional depth from both Sloane and Lillian. I would have liked to see either a prologue with their big fall out or a in depth conversation about what they each felt happened. But that is a personal preference and I still liked their story.

The bigger thing that I struggled with was the Dominic (a client who doesn't know boundaries and the fallout from that) subplot. It felt resolved too quickly and then peaked again out of nowhere and then resolved again. I wish he would have been a bigger problem or just not there at all.

I did love the scenes with Sloane and Ax, Sloane and Blake, NYX AND LILLIAN. I really like how the all mesh so well together as friends.

Overall, I did really enjoy this and will be reading anything in this series. If you like step sibling romances, dark romance elements, angst and more smut angst, then read this. Also! The SET UP FOR THE NEXT ONE which is a stalker romance. Whew. I'm ready for Avery.
