I really liked this book and some of it was really great - that said there are some anti-feminist and ableist themes which made it lose a point. I get she was writing about a real person, but simple things could’ve been changed- like a person choosing for herself to be a surrogate rather than needing permission from her husband. Also- trying to convince someone out of a medical procedure sucks, just no.

I started reading this because I have the same health issue that is central to the female main character’s story. Honestly this book was just insulting. Between the female main being obnoxiously Not Like Other Girls and the male lapping it up, misogyny from honestly all the characters (gorgeous girls are mostly nuts according to the male main), the lack of communication between the mains, the author telling and not showing character traits, gross and stereotypically incorrect portrayals of OCD, glorification of the military, and the end
