Very relatable story of a new kid that isn't sure how she fits in until a connection to a classmate is made, and the sense that all the children feel this way.
I cried. Because that's what I do when I read beautiful message-y children's lit. This is lovely.
a re-read and re-read. Beautiful and a book I often use as a mentor text when teaching about lyrical picture books. About the first day of school, and how you will meet people who are different from you AND who share the same interests.

November 2018 - I wanted to love this one, but either Ben was too fidgety or it wasn't quite working for him yet. I think this might resonate better with a slightly older audience than kindergarten.
