This didn't have the awesome "last book of the series" syndrome. The one that makes the book a hit or miss. The novel was good, but dragged at places. I loved some of the twists, others were too unrealistic. Need I remind Cabot, this is a story, not an analysis paper. No teenaged girl thinks like that. Even one whose boyfriend is a death deity.

Disappointing conclusion to this series. I was mostly bored by this book and found it a chore to get through. I almost didn't finish it. I wouldn't recommend this for teenagers. The author threw in a lot of unnecessary stuff like a drinking/drug party, teenagers having sex, etc. Wish the author would have focused more on the story.

I didn’t really like this series. It was too simple and the writing style wasn’t my cup of tea either. That being said I’m glad I finished it but wouldn’t recommend this series to anyone.

I was very pleased with the ending to this trilogy :)
I love John.. He's just ravishing!!!
my body is ready photo: Yasmin my body is ready 2v7uw03jpg.gif <3 nom nom nom!!

John and Pierce are just adorable together!! And her thought process is naughty! :) but not Rated R stuff.
Even though I only give it three stars does not mean it isn't a five star. This series was just not my cup of tea! It was a great quick read and I would recommend it to younger people.

I really enjoyed Awaken. It was a great finale to this series, and I loved that it started where Underworld left off. It does start off with a bang, and I found myself freaking out right along with Pierce. I really loved the way that Meg Cabot guided it to a successful conclusion, and I didn't feel like there was anything left wanting.
As always the side characters made this book for me, and I loved Kayla and Alex. Especially Alex, because I felt like he finally started to grow and be happy for himself. I did like that in the end Pierce's Grandma got what she deserved, and I can't blame anyone for wanting her gone. Even without a Fury inside of her she was awful! I liked that John and Pierce got their happily ever after. It was an amazing ending, and I'm so glad that book eluded to wonderful things for them in the future.

So to say that this book made me an emotional mess is a complete understatement! From the very first few chapters it already broke my heart and threw all of the pieces around. At the end of a certain chapter I was like YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! I mean I knew there was no way it could possibly be true but for it to tease me like that???? Heart breaking D:

However Awaken was a great ending to this series despite all of the heart ache. All of the plot lines were tied up nicely and I have no questions remaining. I do feel like maybe some things were solved a tad bit too easily, but I also think that this happened because Pierce has grown as a character. She proved herself in this novel and she showed just how bad ass she could be. I loved the fact that John didn't always have to save her because she was capable of saving herself.

One thing that was a little annoying though was that I felt like there were a lot of repetitive sentences. Not a big deal exactly, and this could have just been me, but it did make the writing seem a little more bland I guess you can say.

Anyway, I really did love Awaken and I am very satisfied with the way this series ended, I couldn't have asked for anything better!

Series Rating: 12/15 woots!

That was a heck of a way to finish the trilogy. I love the characters. Mixing characters from different times always makes for a good story. As with all Meg Cabot stories, I love the writing style. I think I always will. Though I would love to find out what happens to the characters next, I also accept the ending I was given. I loved how action packed it was, which I didn't expect at all. It does a fabulous job of putting a whole new spin on the underworld and somehow gives death and the afterlife a little bit of, well...life. I don't want to post a bunch of spoilers, though this book has been out for quite a bit, but hopefully other readers enjoy the heart of Pierce, the moodiness of John and the highly entertaining Frank and Kayla as much as I did. Well done, as always, Meg!

This book didn't grasp my attention and I felt like the storyline was lacking. It needed to be more in-depth for me to stay interested in what was happening. The characters dialogue was good but a let down for the final book.
