If I thought the first book was good this one really blew it out the waters! It was amazing! same # of povs but this one just felt more in depth and tuned in to the thoughts and feelings of the characters. I may have cried several times while reading this. And it really makes you love these characters even after all that they have done.
And it ended up being gay!!! I knew it was like rivals to lovers but I did not know going in that it ended up with a m/m relationship. I love that so much.

A suitable ending. I am on the fence about who ended up with whom, but the pairings worked out. I wanted this to be a trilogy because I felt the end was a bit rushed when the town members started to get involved and the actual plan was revealed to the champions. The last few chapters were needed to close out the book but made it feel a little dragged on. That being said, this was still a really good duology and would make an amazing movie.

the only reason i rated this 4 stars was because i was kicking my feet at one of the couples every time they interacted. otherwise the nonstop back and forth alliances and “oh no can i trust them, did they turn on me” was the most annoying thing in the entire universe and i was big rolling my eyes every single time. would’ve been 3 stars if not for the cute couple, this book annoyed me the majority of the time and i struggled to finish it
