Just awful. Everyone in this book is a stereotype, the story is trite, and the once characters vicious homophobia is treated as an annoying quirk. Worst of all the two gay characters in their 30s are constantly referred to as "boys." At first I thought it was a means of communicating another character's condescending bigotry, but no. Even in the narrator's voice these gay men are "the boys." Apparently neither our culture, nor this books author can quite bring themselves to consistently apply adult masculinity to gay men. Disappointing.
