emotional sad

I liked this book- but felt like it went slower than I was anticipating? But it feels like maybe I was just in a bit of a rut.

Very frustrating main character, although I really tried to understand their perspective for some of the choices made.

Powerful book about missing indigenous women. This is more thriller than mystery, especially as not all the mystery is resolved. Though that is the sad reality. Quill has to take a lot of matters into her own hands, risking her safety to try to fight for other women.

"Where They Last Saw Her" focuses on the problem of Native and indigenous women and children who have gone missing or have been murdered without their cases being properly investigated. The book is gut wrenching. What happens to the women is horrific and deeply unsettling.

The pace of the story was great. The writing was exceptional. The only flaw is the main character; I understood her being untrusting towards certain people, but her constant running into danger was driving me nuts (it's addressed as part of the story). If you want a good MC to yell at, this is one.
