I really loved this book. I wish we had gotten a happy ending but it was very realistic to how things really turn out, unfortunately. I had a lot of empathy for Quil's trauma responses and enjoyed the vigilante aspect because sometimes you really do need to do what you you gotta to get things done,
whether that's a protest or looking out for each other.

This book was about defiance and resilience through trauma. A way that we can step into heartbreak with a Quill and her journey for answers is understanding what Native Women are facing now. I am always curious on how to help. I forget that sometimes I can’t see out of the propaganda we have in the US. Propaganda that makes the US out to be a savior when all he does is see seeds of division and destruction. Someone once said, “the only thing we can do is strike them where it hurts.” In capitalism that’s their money.
I haven’t had the desire to read a book this fast in a long time. It was a slow burn, once I got halfway I couldn’t stop! I stayed up way too late needing to finish it. While this is fiction it brings light to the real issues the Native American women in our country face, still today!
Only reason I rated it a 4 is because there was lots of descriptive fluff, entire paragraphs describing every inch of a room, to much for me!

Quill didn’t have a lot of sense or empathy or curiosity for someone who’s the main character in a thriller charged with the task of finding missing women. Crow was the thinker but also wanted to follow rules, so where Quill was randomly impulsive but also apathetic, Crow was sequential and also apathetic. It was aggravating all around, which I imagine is close to how anyone feels when their women goes missing and no one does anything that makes any sense to find them.

Well written, with a solid cast of well developed, beautifully imperfect characters. I would love to see more of Quill and her community!
