It wasn't for me. I just wasn't. The foolish me who believed it was the same thing I have read as a child... The original version is much more obscene, boring, and threaded with unneeded details that made the lecture more dreadful than pleasurable.
I cannot deny that Jonathan Swift sprinkled in some great ideas about human existentialism, society and morality, while also incorporating the ever-so-mentioned conflict between man and nature. But the execution was so execrable, in my own faulty opinion, that it was hard to appreciate what was actually good about the novel.

I personally did not like this book. I guess I just don't like the style of the 1700s. The story, had it been written in another way, would have been amusing.

What in the hell is the book even about? i understand is parody, its supposed to be satire I think its also supposed to be funny, but I think the book itself didn't get the memo
The ideas and plot points in the story, especially the worlds created and characters involved were incredible. It’s fascinating that something written hundreds of years ago can have more imaginative wit than today’s works. However, I did find myself bored and confused a lot of the time.
