Excellently written but shallow in its take on the human condition, safely building a straw man and knocking it effortlessly down by reducing all of humanity’s ills to oversimplifications and offering no solutions of his own.

Another classic story.
I was honestly a bit surprised by this book, the stories and plot were more interesting than I thought. The writing was fine. I enjoyed exploring the worlds with the main character, though he sometimes got very carried away in the specifics. I sort of envied the author for the amount of possibilities and wonder that existed in a world not fully known and explored. It was interesting to see all the different perspectives of the characters. The main character was a bit prejudiced and I felt sorry for his wife. This guy really got his wife pregnant and then left for five years, not thinking once about his family at home. He would have stayed too, if it was up to him.
Anyway, 3/5.
