A short, easy read. It wasn't challenging but it was emotional. Beautifully handled, but I feel like it could be expanded

A beautifully written enjoyable retelling of Medusa’s story, and also that of Perseus

Not in the mood for the dark feeling in this book at the moment. May return to it.

I hate perseus so i didnt like him being treated as helpful in this book, but i did enjoy athena being such a bitch because i think that is accurate to her character.

I really loved Hannah Lynn's take on the story of Medusa here (based on Ovid's original version), and I feel it really gave a voice to the injustices & trauma she underwent in the years prior to becoming simply another 'monster' for a hero to vanquish at the whims of cruel kings & Gods.

As a slight spoiler, I really loved how Lynn gave us so much reason to empathise with & fall in love with Medusa, but without needing to
Spoiler villainise Perseus
- mortals are all toyed with by the Gods and can often feel helpless to prevent themselves from being puppeted by them. That feeling of infuriating powerlessness is the timeless main theme in this story, and well developed throughout the narrative.

I think the writing style was good, not mind-blowing but still very engaging and emotive. I could've perhaps done with a little more depth and character-building for some of the secondary characters, but all in all, I think this was a really great book, and one I will read again & again!
