My son loves this book. The text is simple, rhyming and sweet with silly illustrations of all kinds of sheep. We turn this into a song easily with the rhyming text. Makes it even more of a favorite since we sing.

For me this is one of those 'Goodnight Moon' books. Where I don't know that I get why it's so popular (why do we care where the green sheep is?? Lol) but my daughter loves it and is so enthusiastic about it that it makes me love it too

Simple enough text for toddlers, long and involved enough for preschoolers, this one is great! Kids will have fun looking on each page for that sly green sheep. A great group read aloud! (Paper clip a few pages together and it would even work for a baby storytime).

My 3 month old was fascinated by many of the pictures, which makes this book a winner.

This one was great for beginning readers and had enough repetition to keep them engaged. I love the twist at the end! You would have expected the green sheep to be doing far more with that kind of build-up!

This book is a delight to read. I have three kids (now 9, 8, and 2) and the two older ones loved this book and the youngest takes it off the shelf at the library whenever she sees it.

This book is fun for the grownup to read. And the kid was totally into it too. Cute illustrations, silly text.

Excellent bedtime story—engaging and vocabulary-building—and guess what the green sheep is doing? Yes, the way all children’s board books end, with sleep. It has a charming rhyme scheme and fun illustrations of sheep doing things that the reader might have done during the day all the while looking for the green sheep. There is a fun page of different colored sheep doing all sorts of things just before the green sheep’s location is revealed. Great curiosity and vocabulary builder.

Promotes: sleep, color-recognition, opposites, vocabulary, imagination, vehicles, bedtime, hide and seek, separation.
