This is one of my favourite Hoover reads ever!

I can't delve too much into the storyline, as I don't want to spoil any elements of this book. I was 70 pages into this read when I went online and ordered the next two in the trilogy.

This is Hoover’s debut novel, and I won’t lie, I can see development in her writing from this to her more recent releases. However, this book is still well written, and it really struck a chord with me. Her characters are wonderfully developed (even her sub-characters), her storyline unique and gripping, and her ability to make you feel really is second to none. All of that, and oh yea, Will Cooper.

Credit where it is due though, this story is about so much more than the romance. Yes, that is a central theme, but we’re also dealing with grief, and responsibility, and growing up. And slammed poetry.

Check out the full review on my blog, including some videos of my favourite spoken word poetry:

Another great CoHo book!

Slammed is the first book in the Slammed trilogy. And I really liked this book! I have to say, the first part of this book (part one) was slower. I did not like it that much, but it is Colleen Hoover's first book, so I kept going to see if I would like it. And oh boy I really did!

This is Colleen Hoover's first book I found that out by watching an interview (starting at 3:50, it should be working from this link: https://youtu.be/zdERAQ6CIJM?si=wL1PjB8tnKOvejgm&t=230). Slammed was written for her grandma to read, and she never intended to publish this for the whole world to read. But it ended up on the NY Times Best Seller's list! The interview is great, it is a must-watch to understand Colleen Hoover and her books (Interview link: https://youtu.be/zdERAQ6CIJM?si=DzgbEkeVOcZyJ9CC).

Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors, I had never had a bad book with her! I don't get how people do not like her.

I can not wait to read the rest of the Slammed series!

Slammed is a YA Romance series by Colleen Hoover. I would also like to say that some of her books are on Kindle Unlimited but this series is not. I would recommend to you to go to your local bookstore (or regular store that sells books). And pick Slammed up!

If you are having a hard time with part one. This is the section for you. The book picks up really quickly after part two! Keep reading part one, it will get better!!

TW: death of parent, grief, cancer (lung)
Genre: Romance, Young Adult, Fiction
Pacing: 3.75/5 (The beginning of this book is slow, but is really good after part two).
Rating: 4.5 stars (I really liked it!). I can't give this five stars unfortunately because of the beginning.
Should you read this: Yes you should!

Loved it of course because it's Coho but November 9 is still my favorite.
