It starts with such a simple plot which becomes deeper and deeper with time and shakes us with the reality that most world is blind towards it or chooses to ignore it.

I must admit this is my first Grisham novel. I stayed away from his stuff because it dealt with lawyers and I thought it would be boring. I happen to read the first pages of Street Lawyer and was hooked. Once you read this story you will not look at homeless people the same.

* Spoiler Alert *

The ending wraps things up too nicely. I am glad it all works out but I thought it would end a little bit more realistic. Gantry surprises by not being acting like the thug we thought he would be, which takes away a little danger to the ending. Ruby is left in an optimistic way but should have left with her MIA. The change of heart of Arthur Jacobs seems a little too hopeful after he was unwilling to pay the money Brock/Greens wanted and never experienced Mister or Lonate first hand. I am glad that Brock and Megan are taking it slow and not jumping in the sack instantaneously.

I hope Grisham writes a sequel one day. I am curious to see what happens as legal clinic gets a ton of pro bonos. Also interested to see how Brock progresses as a character.

IT will change your opinion on the American "machinery" and the way of life in America. Homeless people are treated no better than they are anywhere else in the world. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller, but also to all lawyers, especially those who couldn't care less about their clients.
