This book made me so angry, I don't remember the last time I was this mad about how a series ended.  I think the thing that makes me even angrier about it is the fact that the author made me care about these characters (with the exception of Mikael) and I was even on the brink of tears because of how invested I became in most of the characters.  I wish I could say I didn't like this series but in reality, I was pretty invested in the story, I was never bored, and I didn't want to put the book down but there was a lot in the book that I really didn't like how it played out.  Alexander definitely deserved better than what happened to him and I am so mad about the author killing him off so early in the book.and leaving Katya pregnant with his child without Alexander or anyone else knowing that he was the father of her child.  I think it might be implied that she tells Adrian at the end, but that wasn't enough for me, I wish Alexander had a chance to be a father to his son.  I just get sad thinking about Alexander because he was never the villain (despite what Mikael believed), and while he had his faults, he was a good man who loved Norah.  I just wasn't fond of the secret evil twin storyline that was revealed in this book with Alexander's twin Lucien being alive and the true person behind the seers' visions of Mikael's death.  If I'm being completely honest, I wouldn't have minded Mikael's death over the other ones featured in this book.  His character never grew on me, which is pretty rare for me.  Usually I'm all over the main love interest but I feel like compared to other characters, he didn't have as much character development and I feel at times he was having the same arguments and insecurities with Norah and while I do think Norah had her faults, I at least found her character likaeble.  I think Soren was probably the best character in this series and had the best character arc.  He definitely had some of his walls broken down and found family and love in this book, and he was by far my favorite character.  I also really loved Adrian's character, and I feel like him and Soren kind of redeemed this book for me a bit because there was quite a bit I took issue with.  I feel like I also wish there was a bit more to the ending.  I don't like a series to end when the action ends unless there is a little epilogue to show me that the characters are doing okay.  I just like a little bit more after the action ends to wrap things up for the characters.  I feel like this ending was cut short, and I can see an ending like this work if the author plans on revisiting the world, but if not, please give me an epilogue or something.  All in all, I don't regret reading this series at all and it definitely kept my interest but I'm definitely still mad at in and it's going to take me a bit to get over Alexander's death.

Overall, I liked it. But the underbaked parts really glared at me, sprinkled around some very good plot structures, strong and interesting characters. The court politics were really well done if they were a bit rushed in places.

The Major Character death hit pretty hard, not gonna lie.

I liked how Norah's memory loss became less relevant but still important. She couldn't piece together the necessary info since she didn't have it, but it stopped being a major part of her story very organically. I appreciated that.

I binged the trilogy, and it truly was a page turner for me. The ending felt rushed and could've been tied off more completely and that saddened me but I'm still happy I read it.

Needs an epilogue to really tie it all up

I am at a loss of what to do with myself now that I've finished this series.

This was a truly fantastic fantasy epic. I highly recommend it for anyone who's looking for something as in-depth and intricate as Lord of the Rings. There's a lot more adult themes, but it's definitely a high fantasy worth reading.

The writing was amazing, the pacing was non-stop, and the characters were solid. I couldn't bring myself to skip even a single word because I had to know every little detail of how this story was going to shake out.
