there is nothing profound about this book. lt is a very low level, basic explanation of just not being a shitty person. chewing your food into a liquid will not effect your emotional outbursts.

Simply written, but so profound. The author makes it seem like you can fix every relationship in your life in just a few hours. I suspect the reality is not nearly so clear-cut. I think that if you could actually enact this system of living in the world you would achieve sainthood. My sense is that the average person might be able to integrate a few suggestions over a long period of time. However, the author is amazingly wise and his advice cannot help but have a positive effect on the reader.

you don't have to consider yourself an "angry person" to gain insight from this book! aspects of the text should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when he gives advice on eating in the beginning, but don't let those tidbits stray you from the larger points he's getting at; his Buddhist perspective has really helped me deal with personal frustrations & worries & it might help you too :)

Anecdotal but filled with insights. Includes real practical skills (mindful breathing) even if you skip the Buddhist elaborations.
