Very entertaining and well documented. A bit too long and too detailed.
I’m hoping that this book is a satire or written as a joke otherwise it should be titled ‘How to manipulate people and ignore consent’ with the tag line stay toxic. It refers to people as victims and targets.
Some interesting parts, and similar to "48 Laws of Power" in the way it's written. It tells a bunch of stories about historically successful seducers (male and female) and tries to use those to define the "art" of seduction. Many of the stories are interesting because they portray how things once were, but this is also what makes the book somewhat fail its mission. Modern times isn't like the 18th century where some upper class people played the social "game" all day, and most of us aren't living anywhere close to the lives those people lived, or have the same norms (luckily).
I knew how the book was written beforehand and expected primarily historical stories but if you're looking for a guide to seduction - look elsewhere. As previously mentioned there were plenty of interesting stories and some food for thought, however, a bit dense and repetitive at times.

yea no thank u.. i am not a fan of misogyny and this man is literally just telling people how to do the same thing over and over again…. like yasss manipulate ok… what next..
in a historical sense i guess this book would make more sense but honestly i couldn’t even get all the way through without giving up lol

I was really conflicted on this one. Pretty psychopathic in writing style but the histories are fun and revealing. All Green needed to do was not use words like ‘victim’ and ‘prey’ and just tell fun stories of love and romance, but he could not
rating does not equate agreeing with or liking the subject matter per se.
very interesting book on a lot of different levels.
