The art of seduction is exactly what the title says, it's masterfully written to explain why Seduction is so enchanting to humans. Some would say the predatory themes are prevalent throughout but seduction has already been compared to a modern form of war that is one of psychology.
The book itself reads well, it's cohesive and broken into excellent insights - whilst the historical anecdotes make up the majority of the book they are well thought and relevant to the point. They are also immensely entertaining and often cyclical as conclusions further on in the book allude to them. I'd say it's a good book to understand the art of seduction itself and for those who wish to mimic the behaviours to become a master of seduction it's a decent beginner's guide however it is not a step by step guide to baby feed you. If you are unable to have the creativity to think for yourself or infer from the text please do not blame the book.
All in all it was an enjoyable read.

Will maybe finish this, but it's brutal
Just as with the other Robert Greene book I read, The 48 Laws of Power, the advice is more suited to someone attending a royal court. Obviously all the advice is how to manipulate people, and the word Victim comes up a lot. I'm sure it has its uses, and it alerts you to some things to look for to defend yourself against people trying tactics laid out in the book. Somewhat interesting, and I'm not sure whats added in the full version, but I think it's better to be short and sweet for this kind of thing.

This was recommended to me as a sociological study of human courtship throughout the centuries; I can only assume I misunderstood that person's sarcasm.
I suppose it's less obnoxious than The Mystery Method, but is quite skeezy nonetheless.
