There is so much to love about this book. The research is well done. The sex is incredibly hot. I appreciated that even Aurora was getting annoyed with herself.
Because she was annoying as it went on, and it cost the romance and the plot both. There were plot points that could have been cut or better built out if not for that. Also, Apollo's point of view offered nothing. The reasons keeping them apart should have been collasal and instead they felt thin, and I think his POV was part of that. Aurora only might have had the annoying self restraint, but we could have had more substance to her belief he wouldn't love her forever. His POV only spoiled that and made her annoying, and it was fan service to unnecessarily work in the others.
There also should have been more Luz and Manuela. They weren't used effectively, and part of the appeal of the Leonas is their friendship.
But it was great. A historical heroine with a career and a passion, especially a risky one? Always sign me up. The clinics were so interesting. The conflict wrote itself. The points it felt easy or convenient were disappointing.
