*3.5 This was not bad. The art is beautiful, there were a few times where the writing was hard to follow and didn’t make sense and while the whole super hero comes to America in a space ship and is then adopted is a bit cliche I still enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes and I hope it gets better from here!

Generic at best, chronically dull at worst. Seemed quite lazily written maybe with no endearing characters, a bloated lore dump in the middle, and punchy punchy whatever to round it out. If I'm straying into superhero stuff I need it to be full of either humanity or fun and this had neither.

Cool concept, gets very standard superhero near the end.

I picked up this book because I finally wanted a definitive way to get into the DC Universe. This definitely did that in away - as I know now about all the multiple earths and can take each DC comic as it’s own entity; however, although the artwork and coloring were fantastic , the story itself was only okay. I’m not sure where they’re planning to go with it.

I gave this a 3 Star review because of the artwork presented, and the story is enough to not make it boring. It’d be interesting to see where they take it in the future.

Setting a new origin story for a brand new character, Bendis and Walker bring some engaging complexity to the life of Naomi as she struggles to understand her place in the world. Season one brings a balance of humor and real emotion, setting up an intriguing new story with clear ties to the larger DC Universe. It doesn't fully set itself apart from other superhero narratives as the story continues to develop, but the central characters and Campbell's dramatic art make this a worthwhile read.

ok i LOVED this - it's a Bendis book so I already knew there would be way too many word bubbles, but I was still gripped issue to issue and couldn't stop reading. more pls
