I recently added a coworker to my GoodReads friends list and I really hope they are not seeing the books I'm adding and reviewing because whew boy am I starting my 2021 with the weirdest, horniest trash I can find.
This soothes an itch that VC Andrews started in my youth when my father made the mistake of buying me one of those foil-cover mass market reprints of Flowers in the Attic. It was a formative time for me, so, bad move on his part. It started me on a journey of depravity that has lead me here, to Pin. Not very far I guess, because it turns out Neiderman wrote like 70 VC Andrews books. But at least I'm on brand I guess?
Anyway, this one is for folks who want their thrillers to include anatomical dummies, quasi-incest and uncomfortably precise language!

And now I'll have to watch the movie adaptation because I'm hoping it's just as bizarre and twisty.
This was a very odd story and I enjoyed it a lot. Bad things are bound to happen when you're in love with your sister and your best friend is an anatomical model. There is one part in the book that brought one of my greatest fears to life as I share a particular ailment of someone mentioned in the book. I recommend this one if you love trashy 80's horror.
Good lord this one kept me reading. Finished it in about 4 hours. Books rarely do that to me, and I don't regret it one bit. Outstanding, seriously. I can see why this book was regarded as something different and refreshing. It is an old theme that has been done before, however this was an interesting take on it. I enjoyed it very much and was excited to see what would happen next. Highly recommended if you enjoy psychological thrillers.
I just rated a book for star for being unsettling and getting under my skin. And while this did the same it wasn't as an intriguing read. It made me extremely uncomfortable with the sexual themes /rape in this book. It was overall an interesting story but I am not able to like/enjoy a book with sexual assault themes especially if I'm not expecting it. In some books i am but not in this

4.5/5. What an insane ride! I can't in good conscience recommend this book. It's really messed up but it was exactly what I was looking for. Lots of ick and shock and I seriously couldn't put it down. The first half dragged on a little too long, but the second half was fast paced and absolutely nutty. Had me questioning my sanity. But not Pin. No one dares to question Pin.
It’s like Flowers in the Attic if they were joined by Annie of CPR dummy fame.
