I read this book 20 yeara ago and it still stands out as the first time I closed a book and thought DAFAQ did I just read. Traumatically bonkers.

Read this book because my curiosity got the best of me and I also wanted to see the movie and the new Lifetime series.
For the people that read this in their preteen years....I'm so very sorry. I'm 31 and wasn't really ready for what happened in this book.
Giving it 3 stars because as crazy as it is, I couldn't bring my self to quit reading or put it down.
The mother, Corrine, deserves to go straight to hell.

Dark/depressing novel, hard to read at times, yet I also had to know what happened!

This…is not a book for children. Even in the 80s. Yikes.

Looking back, can't believe i read this book! But back then it was all the rage to read. The subject matter is heavy and disturbing. That being said can't wait for the lifetime movie that's coming out!

I wish the book had delved deeper into their escape and introduction back into society rather than leaving 1 short chapter to sum it up. At times it was a bit uncomfortable to read but it was still an interesting story that I have enjoyed discussing with friends.

Well, I was reading things I shouldn’t have at 13 years old
