Wow. Reading this as an incoming med student there’s a lot to process. Between how different physicians handled her care and the incredibly terrifying experience this young woman and her family went through, I think this is an incredible book to learn from as a future physician. It’s also an insight into how much we don’t know about our bodies and minds.
I’m glad this had a happy ending and that her story has brought awareness to a disease that was once obscure.

I liked the book and thought it was fascinating to learn about brain stuff, but I feel like there could have been more snippets from journals and notes. The recovery part after was a little lengthy for my taste. Overall, I couldn't put it down and enjoyed it a lot.

First 100 pages was a really interesting medical mystery. The rest just dragged on and wasn't really very insightful. Disappointing in the end but still an interesting read! I'm sure it'll be a great movie
Was a good book and interesting but sometimes felt a little repetitive and too much medical terms without explanation. A different read but takes a lot of thought
Main part is interesting. The author's ideas about the medical sector are typically dull journalist stuff that detract from the reading experience.

Really engaging, I read it in about 4 days.
Very much a detective story for the first 3/4, the part about recovery was hard to read about how different it felt to not have her brain as her own.
