Read for a book club - I’m not sure I would have picked this on my own. I appreciated the clever twist and I am looking forward to discussing the book with others, but not sure I would recommend it.

I really enjoyed the book, it felt like you were truly reading a true crime novel and it got creepy a couple of times! The only reason it got Four stars instead of five is because the person you’re following keeps seeing things or keeps putting himself in a situation where he would be seen as a person of interest. Or he could help the police and yet he never goes to the police

Interesting format with the writer inserting himself into a fictional story about a serial killer, but overall it’s slow with nothing much happening. Someone is killed, the town is on edge for a few weeks, then things go back to normal. Repeat. None of the characters are all that interesting. The ending is decent but leaves you wanting more.

Great idea, good implementation. The style was not my favourite (very personal ofc).

A fictional true crime story about a small town serial killer and the decades it took to track him down. I heard some great reviews for this one but despite amazing narration the story overall was just ok for me. Recommended for true crime podcast enthusiasts.
