Cloelia was betrayed and enslaved. Everything was stripped from her, even her real name. Now she is called Tacita and the world she lives in is one where the only use she has is a way for men to satiate their lust in anyway they want. She has been so abused that she feels dead inside.
Valerius Lucretius sees Tacita being sold in the market and buys her. He is one of the few powerful men in ancient Rome that isn't corrupt. Every slave he buys is treated kinder and better then they ever have been by any Dominus before.
After some mistakes in the beginning Valerius and Tacita are soon drawn together while Tacita struggles with her past and Valerius fights it with love. Slowly Valerius learns all of her story (and her real name) and he never could have imagined the depths of the horrors that have happened to her.
This was an amazing story! I really like ancient Rome settings and the book just sucked me right in! There was never a dull moment. I also have Chevoque's [b:High Priestess of Pleasure|25142261|High Priestess of Pleasure|Chevoque|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1426357601s/25142261.jpg|41832467] that takes place in ancient Egypt to read and if it is anything like this one then I will be on the lookout for more Chevoque historicals!
