This was a really fascinating story. I enjoyed every moment of it, and will definitely recommend this book to others who are looking for a heartfelt, meaningful read. The only problem I had with the book was that it was pretty predictable at times, but overall I really like the story.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very heartwarming and real first novel - I enjoyed reading it a lot! There were times I was insanely frustrated with Scout and the choices she was making, but that was all part of the journey. I can't wait to see what Dori Ann Dupre writes next - I will be reading it, whatever it is!

Poor Scout. I really felt for her in her struggles. Good debut novel. I look forward to reading more!

*I received this for review from the author.

I loved the story of Scout and how beautifully written this book is. the only downside for me is that it was told from too many different perspectives, however, all those perspectives played an important part of the story. Another downside for me was that the story jumped from one time to another too quickly for. There were also things that made me wonder what Scout was thinking when doing some of the things that she did.

I love this book.

It was also a book that is more than a bit disturbing in its brutal examination of the human condition. It is a book about the human condition from one, well several, perspectives. And like so many books that examine things so closely, we really get a good look at our own failings as human beings.

This book centers on a young lady growing up probably a bit too early, but who also finds her own strength in the process. The folks that surround her are fully realized and multi-dimensional and you care for all of them, even all the ones making dreadful mistakes. They are you. They are all of us.

One thought that ran through my head as I read this was that... one could easily retitle this book to "Life is Complicated".

Read "Scout's Honor". It's a great debut novel.
