3.75–Being an earth sciences girlie, the philosophy that Joan expresses about our place in the universe is certainly one that I have felt and discussed in an academic setting. Unfortunately the way it was inserted into the dialogue in this book felt a little heavy handed and clunky.
Nevertheless, this story was captivating and the last 50 pages were devastating. I will be honest that when I picked it up (having never read another TJR book), I was expecting it to be a little more NASA/science forward, but that was my mistake. It was the quick-read standalone that I needed while I am between series.
