Such fantastic storytelling! I have my own thoughts about the ending that I won't spoil in the public review
but I have no hesitation on Storygraph - what a cop out that Vanessa lived, right? It made me scream but gosh she should've stayed dead.
, but I loved all of the characters and their interactions with each other. Barbara was particularly interesting to me, especially her relationship with Frances and Joan, but all of the side characters are so incredibly fleshed out and well written. The dual timeline also offered an interesting perspective on the stories being told and contributed to the character development. Loved to see another win from Taylor Jenkins Reid! Also super surprised my book club chose this book honestly.

This was gut wrenching to read for multiple reasons. The way things were set up at the beginning, I knew I’d be sobbing by the end. Incredible storytelling. Beautifully complex characters. Heart-stopping tension and suspense. Heart achingly romantic. Deeply emotional. This had everything I love in stories. A new all time favorite!

(Love that my top 2 favorite reads of this year are both about space!)

TJR you ripped my heart out again & I am so grateful. The way I SOBBED! This book gripped me and didn't let go until the very last page. TJR, absolutely no surprise that you once again have written gold. Thank you for this beautiful story! One of my new favorites

I’m never read a book that more accurately depicts
the deep ache of living in the closet, of loving someone in secret.
I’ll be reading this again and having my children read it and recommending it to everyone I know.

all of my childhood, i wanted to be an astronaut. i used to check out all the library books about how to go to the bathroom in space, the food astronauts have to eat, the training they endure. i was excited when i learned that the first woman astronaut to be in space had my middle name.

i loved reading about their training, the bond between the crews, the different constellations and galaxies i had never heard of before.

i love vanessa so much 😭😭😭😭😭i think joan talked about god a bit too much for me but i loved her too and also her love for frances. i hope frances literally kicks barbara’s ass in the future. 

i cried at the end 😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
