This might be my favorite Colleen Hoover book. A strong female lead, a mystery, some cutsie moments and some harsh personal realizations. I'm in. Interested I where it leads. Now off to book two...

This book will leave you saying WTF?? It is spellbinding and from the very first chapter, you can't put it down. Its going to be torture having to wait until May to read more!

Ok I read “It Ends With Us” in 2021 which was 2/5 ⭐️ , and then Verity last year which I actually really enjoyed. Laid off the CH books after all that’s been said regarding this author but thought I’d give this one a go since she was a co-writer with Taryn Fisher (haven’t read anything by Fisher).

Even at 50%, after finding out about the 48 hours part, I wasn’t engaging with the storyline. I also just wasn’t interested in the characters. Reading this book had me checking what the target audience was - it definitely wasn’t me.

Maybe I was impatient, maybe I should’ve kept reading.. I’ll still stay clear of any spoilers I might come across, even though I don’t think my algorithm includes anything CH related, because I would love for my opinion to change!

DNF-ing is not something I do often, but that’ll have to be the case for now.

I knew it was a cliff hanger and that's why im giving it 5* instead of the usual
'i hate cliff hangers 1*' :D
Coho and Tarryn are magic together. Damn these two can write. The story felt like it was all over the place but in a good way. You can tell that one wrote the chapter, handed it over to the other and she continued from there. i think its amazing they made it work so well.
there are so many unanswered questions but im looking forward to getting the answers.

I can't.... I just... OMG

I NEED BOOK TWO RIGHT NOW!!

Silas and Charlie are just awesome characters, the story is so intriguing and, is just a good and easy read. I could not put the book down, it was just incredible I had been searching for a good book to read and I found it, too bad I have to wait three more months to read what happens!!

You've got to be kidding me! A CLIFFHANGER?? I thought "Part One" and "Part Two" were just cutesie ways of naming the books in the series. Gah!

At the beginning of this book I was kind of irritated that Charlie and Silas weren't telling anyone about their problem. I knew it was for the story's sake but I just kept thinking if it were ME I'd have already been to my Dr. :) But by the end of the book I was just enjoying the story....until 10:59 on Friday....AHHHH!!!

I already pre-ordered Part Two though.

Rating: 5/5 ★★★★★

I am definitely biased when it comes to Colleen Hoover because she's one of my all time favorites. Her writing always has the ability to grab me and haul me into her books and not let go until the very last page. This lovely book was no different. However it was quite interesting reading a collaboration between her and an author who I've never read a book from before. I could tell what parts were Colleen's and what parts were Tarryn's because of that but I could always tell what Tarryn added to the story. It's was like their writing added to each others to make something even more amazing. I don't think I've ever read such a solid collaboration before.

Now for what I loved about the book itself; two words, the mystery. I'm usually one of those impatient readers that spends the whole book watching for any bits of foreshadowing she can get her hands on so that she can figure out what's going to happen ahead of time and while I was looking for foreshadowing with this too I enjoyed the mystery of it more than I ever have any other book. I mean a boy and a girl are in the middle of a class and suddenly they have no memory of anything. No clue whats happened to them. No clue who they are, where they are. They don't know a single thing, not even their own names. It was intriguing from line one. The more you find out about the both of them the more questions you have because the answers never give you the actual answers you want. You have vague moments of realization where you think you might know what's going on but they're never confirmed. And I absolutely loved the romance because it wasn't thrown in your face. It was more subtle. Different from past Colleen Hoover books I've read since romance is a major factor in most of her books. It's definitely for someone who is into a neat little wrapped package of suspense, mystery, the hint of something supernatural, and a tad bit of romance.

Also be warned, you're in for a shocking ending if you pick this up. I was on the edge of my seat by the time I got close to the ending. You'll either want to throw the book and or e-reader or you'll want to fast forward to May 17th and have part two right that second. I for one can't wait for part two and I'm counting down the days.

Another book from Colleen Hoover that I absolutely loved and a great introduction to Tarryn Fisher's writing for me.

I was really confused by this book i can really say if this book was good or bad...confusing but interesting enough for me to read part two

logickat's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH

Nope. Got to 40% and had enough of the shallow characters with their senseless decisions. A teenage boy and girl both mysteriously lose their memories, sort of, because they can't remember personal details (like who they are or who anyone is or where they live) but they remember daily skills like how to drive and song lyrics and how to use a phone. Instead of telling anyone, they try to fake it and figure out who they are on their own. And of course no one notices. Stupid.

After peeking at the spoilers for #3, I'm so glad I didn't waste any more of my precious reading time on this series.

So this book was reccommended by a good friend, and all I can say is, I wish it would've been written as one book. For the sake of the flow and my heart I wish this book continued. It is going to be soooo difficult waiting for the second. The cliffhanger at the end was ridiculous (in a good way). I would say if you want a quick read that is full of mystery and anticipation, then read it.

The only bad comment (which is the reason for the three stars) was that I did not like Charlie's character. It's always the same moody, annoying 'I don't care' attitude teen that ends up being in Hoovers books. There is always back and forth (for the sake of the mystery and romance) but I wish she could be straight forward.

And I wish someone would portray high school like it actually is, instead of adding cheating scandals, that seem so unrealistic.
