I appreciate the characters becoming more transparent with each other and the fact theres a lot of understanding. I feel like Narumi's dependence is toxic and manipulative for sure and though our lead girl is honest she's not honest enough and sometimes lacks the understanding that people can be complex and girls and guys can be friends. However obviously in this case it's different considering her suspicions are correct, I just don't appreciate a manga solidifying this overdone view that people can't be there for each other without romance. Though I get the teacher sub plot may be an issue I feel Tanaka sensei is doing his best and I doubt the ship will succeed but I do wish they had a chance... Will see
~3.5 Stars
I think the drama is amping up in this series. I will admit it might not be what we expect of either Sakisaka or this series—but I'm still enjoying it.
Futaba is still having a hard time with Kou, and that Kou has kind of chosen Yui. But Futaba doesn't think that Yui is good for Kou, and that she's dragging him down. I did appreciate this sentiment, but I also didn't think her decision on how to confront this was a good idea. There was no way it was going to turn out any other way.
It's really too bad for Kikuchi, honestly. He's a good guy, and he likes Futaba a lot. But Futaba's too stuck on Kou to see anyone else. I like that we got to see Kikuchi's friends more here, and how Futaba's friends interacted with them. There's some potential there.
These series definitely don't beat around the bush. Futaba doesn't keep her feelings hidden for long. And so of course Shuko finally confronts her feelings for Tanaka, especially after she gets a reality check about what her feelings could do to his career.
I'm hopeful about where this is going, but I definitely think there's some more drama ahead.
A review copy was provided by the publisher, VIZ Media, for an honest review. Thank you so, so much!

I’m not really liking Narumi or Kou at the moment but I really enjoyed the section involving Mr Tanaka and Shuko!
Now on to vol. 8!
Now on to vol. 8!
The adventures of Futaba the pick me continues.... Again, nothing too major happens in this volume unless if you count Murao finally closing the chapter on her crush on Kou's brother.
I like Murao but I'm really happy this whole teacher/student crush thingy is over with. I hate teacher/student relationships and while I'm glad nothing happened between Murao and Tanaka, it's still odd that so much time was spent on this storyline. Now that this is finally over, I can't wait to see how Murao and Kominato's relationship develops. That and seeing Yuri getting her happy ending is one of the few things that I'm only interested in seeing.
Futaba is still the same pick me Futaba. My favorite part of this volume was when Narumi dragged Futaba after Futaba demanded Narumi to let go of Kou. I don't care for Narumi but how hypocritical can Futaba be? Futaba is not letting go of Kou even though Kou can be a jerk at times so why the hell is she demanding Narumi to stop speaking to Kou. I'm really not liking the way some of the female characters are written in this story.
