The author clearly put a lot of thought in the world structure that the story is based in. I find that it is very dense, which is not a bad thing, but the third person I feel may have been the bad might've been the wrong choice for the book. The character dynamics, and the character connections feel Lost and disconnected. I don't feel or am able to connect to the characters in the three chapters that I've read so far. There is a lot of the myth around Hades that people are saying that he is not like the myth but I'm not seeing him be anything that objects to this to these statements, or  Reinstate these statements either. Hades is just in my mind who characters around him say he is. And if I'm supposed to connect her empathize with the plate of Hades, then I want to see his character do things say things that contradict the myth, or the myth that everyone else  Believes. But overall, I think I am not into Greek mythology, or Greek retellings as I thought I would be just based off of the premise of this book. Perhaps I would come back to it in the future.

Loved Hades and Persephone, their characters were great and they were very cute together. The politics around the districts wasn't super clear, but that might have been my reading comprehension running away from me. Over all I really liked it, the romance was very sweet

An interesting take on Hades and Persephone.

If you like Hades/Persephone retellings and the setting of a casino/theatre then definitely check this out.

I wanted to give this a shot and got it on Kindle Unlimited. I definitely see the appeal, but the setting and prose wasn't doing it for me and I don't have a particular interest in Hades/Persephone retellings so it didn't hold my attention all that well.

The book could use a solid edit for spelling/grammar/ect. but it's a decent piece of work. It reads like a lot of fan fiction I've seen (affectionately) so I know there's an audience, it's just not me.

I love a good Hades/Persephone book. I loved the concept and modernization of the tale. I wish the world building was more in depth, I couldn’t fully tell if they were mortals or immortals in the beginning due to the language. And I never fully conceptualized what the world actually looked like and how the districts were connected, but maybe that’s purely my reader error.

SO GOOD. Virtues has created an incredible world in this Greek Myth retelling (not sure what's in the water this year/last year but this makes two 5 star Hades and Persephone retellings). It's so effortlessly diverse and inclusive - Persephone is DEFINITELY not the only trans character and the overall rep is fantastic. The story still holds the original myths in such a way that you recognize the characters even though Virtues has updated the setting AND made them feel like real people who change and grow.

The relationship between Hades and Persephone blooms in such a beautiful, heart-wrenching way and yet is one of the hottest damn romances I've read this year (it's kinky and wild and has an unexpected threesome that fits seamlessly with the characters). The second love story in this book is the love of this found family surrounding Hades - the nephews and friends that he took in and nurtured - and who embraces Persephone from the drop.
