The only redeemable quality of this book is that the writing itself is really good. I like the author’s style.

The characters are flat and boring, and I find the protagonist to have a serious victim complex and to be narcissistic and childish. Seriously, I don’t think I liked a single character from this book very much, but Nora is especially cringeworthy.

The ending was very anticlimactic and boring. All of this traumatic stuff happened that would ultimately change a person so much and Nora just goes back to her little apartment and lives the same boring, dreadful little life.

Ultimately, I’d read other books by Ruth Ware because I really enjoyed her writing style, but the characters in this book just really put me off.

This the exact thriller read I needed. Fast paced, off putting female character lead, and just the right amount of back stabbing and crime. Definitely a fast read and one you won’t want to put down.

Ugh I love Ruth’s books but they always fall just short of being great. There’s always room for one final big twist, and then she just stops. Everything is spelled out, there’s no loose ends or possible conjecture about anything, and she always tells you who the bad guy is pretty up front. I don’t hate that they’re never some person who’s introduced late in the game, I do hate that she never takes that one extra step to really fuck with your head at the end though.

I feel that the author could have done so much more with this story.

I loved the characters as well as the glass house and the creepiness that it introduced.
The author tried to build up the suspense although you can kind of predict whats going to happen next, and the whole plot could have been easily avoided by a simple conversation.

When I first started reading the prologue and first chapter had me immediately hooked and I had super high expectations. After this though the book took far too long to get into the actual suspense and action and I just felt as if I was reading a book about a normal bachelorette with some slightly strange people. Once the action started it was well done I just wish there would’ve been more time spent describing it he actual incidents. I did enjoy the jumps in time I think this helped build the suspense very well. Overall enjoyable just had higher expectations in terms of the thrilling aspects.

This is the third Ruth Ware book I’ve  read. I don’t know why I keep reading her books, I never like them.
Characters are flat and predictable. The writing feels lazy. There is always a lot of words and not much happening. And then the book wraps up.
